上周日是今年的初中科普英语比赛，之前是听说初中低年级组是下午3点30到5点，那样正好上午的课结束后回来能赶上考试，结果最后通知说是下午1点到2点半，这样就影响了全天的2节外教课，最后商量后，决定今年弃考，毕竟这个考试的实际价值远远低于2节外教课的价值。
女儿上周的学校的科普英语拓展课一下子高大上了起来，老师是预告了英文的《科学美国人》网站上的最新一篇内容，关于讲对称形膝盖和运动的关系。一开始听女儿说的时候，我以为老师是给他们打印了《科学美国人》的60秒科技，后来去网上一查，发现原来是隔天的科技头条，密密麻麻的字看得我头疼。
这周日上午的课，老师用了一种新的方式上课，让孩子们轮流上去画画，然后最后形成了一幅完整的图，再让每个孩子按照自己的理解来说这幅画，按照老师的话就是Apicture is worth than a thousand words.同时这个课也就上得欢乐无比，每个孩子的视角都不同。
后来老师又把澳大利亚的动物给孩子们讲了一下，这次上课我总算搞明白了那些动物的特殊之处，教编的课到底就是不一样，解释得非常到位，透彻。最后，老师让孩子们针对这些澳大利亚的动物，写一篇介绍，下面是女儿写的内容。
Australian Animals
In Australia, there are a lot of animals that people in othercountries have never seen before.
The Kiwi bird is the first strange animal I want to introduce toyou. It is a kind of small animal that lives in Australia and NewZealand. It seems a little bit stupid to me for it has s small beakand no wings. In this way, when there is danger, it may not be ableto escape as fast as it can.
Next, let me tell you something about a sugar glider. It probablyeats insects. From its name, we can learn that a sugar glider andglide. Perhaps it jumps off a tall tree or even a building, then itcan go to places far away. Even though, I still have no idea how itgets its name.
A Kookaburra is also an interesting animal. When it makes a sound,people say it’s like laughter. It’s cute so I believe people areeager to keep kookaburras as pets.
Koalas are popular animals for people who come to Australia forholidays. Almost everybody knows this kind of animal, that’s whyKoalas are famous around the world. Normally when a person mentions“Australia”, the other people will quickly think of koalas. Peoplethink of koalas and kangaroos are symbols of Australia.
下午的课的主题是天才，巧的是这周女儿刚看完了一本关于门萨女孩的书，课上完后，我发现的问题是，女儿对歌曲的歌词理解还是不到位，感觉还是积累不够，需要大量积累，才能找到真正的理解的感觉。

Genius
Geniuses are a kind of people that are very smart; normally theirIQs are above 140. If not, then they can’t get thisname.
A lot of geniuses behave as if they are stupid people, because theydon’t want others to find out their secrets. Or others just behaveextremely naughty in front of a large crowd of people, in this waythey think people may give up the thought that they’re geniuses.But as far as I know, smart people are usually naughty because theyare so clever that they want to think of some tricks to trickpeople. Another kind of genius is that they’re interested instrange things and people can never understand. You may also saythe sign of geniuses is MADNESS.
Some people think that people are grown into geniuses; geniusescome out of hard work. In my opinion, geniuses are born with, IQ isnot something that human being itself can change easily.
There is a club called MENSA. It’s the club that attracts geniuses.It was established in 1946 in the UK. If you’re clever enough, youcan get in.
If one person suddenly tells others that you’re a genius. I don’tthink a lot of people would believe it. Even though people believein it, that would cause jealousy and that’s why geniuses werekilled in early days.
